AstraZeneca Switzerland is celebrating its 50th anniversary and looks back on a remarkable journey – from the beginnings of its predecessor companies to its position today as one of the country's leading biopharmaceutical companies. The celebration is not just about a number, but above all about the people, the innovations and the therapies that improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients in Switzerland.
First "Transform Care Award" goes to project for safe outpatient cancer treatment

Dr. Jorune Pikelis of the Cantonal Hospital of St. Gallen (HOCH Health Ostschweiz) wins the "Transform Care Award," endowed with 30,000 Swiss francs, from AstraZeneca Switzerland and the Swiss Cancer Institute. Her project uses wearable sensors and intelligent data analysis to allow certain cancer therapies to be administered safely on an outpatient basis - instead of in the hospital.
"Share & Care Day": 130 Employees Give Back to the Community
Our commitment to employees.
Around 130 employees from AstraZeneca and Alexion Switzerland once again left their usual workplaces to get involved in social and environmental projects at eight institutions in German- and French-speaking Switzerland. From supporting people with disabilities and working in the forest to collecting food for those in need – the "Share & Care Day" focused on active participation in the community.
