There is a mood of great joy at the Baar site. After receiving five consecutive certificates from «Great Place to Work» we won the award as one of Switzerland’s «Best Workplaces» as well as the «Legend» Prize at the Gala Award Ceremony. This makes us feel proud and shows what can be accomplished with the commitment and cohesion of the entire team.

Along with the award as one of the «Best Medium Workplaces», AstraZeneca took the stage at this year’s «Award Ceremony 2023»  to accept the «Legend» Employer Prize.

Inclusion and diversity are alive and well in the workplace.

We are especially pleased by the positive overall assessment, which is a measure of the fairness, diversity in practise, and open, honest dialogue. Inclusion and diversity are alive and well in the workplace and have thus become cornerstones of the company culture.  In addition, the management style is dynamic and inclusive, with all decisions made transparently, and with employees are included in discussions of strategic issues.  This is the recipe for successful goal-oriented collaboration. Building and maintaining a diverse talent pool provides the basis for individual options in professional advancement.

In the video, our employees explain in their own words what inspires them in their everyday work:

The employees of AstraZeneca Switzerland explain in the video why their workplace is a «Great Place to Work».

Our Swiss site has an international flair, because there are around 250 employees from about 20 different countries working here.  The workforce is diverse, consisting of 57 percent women and 43 percent men.  In addition, over 54 percent of management positions are held by women.

As part of the «Great Place to Work-Survey», employees took part in an anonymous poll. The results make us proud:

  • In 2023, 97 percent of employees rated the workplace culture as «excellent».

  • 93 percent of participants are confident about direction and strategy.

  • 98 percent of survey respondents believe there is broad gender equality.

  • 99 percent of employees also report that there is equality as regards sexual orientation.
