Get hands-on experience within 3 rotations and discover your professional passion



You will have the opportunity to work in different business areas - tailored to your interests, in line with AstraZeneca's current priorities. This structure is designed to provide comprehensive insights through hands-on experience in an international environment.

During each rotation, you will play a key role in your projects while being benefitting from the guidance of personal mentors and a strong team

What does the programme offer you?


Tailored Rotations

Over the course of 18 months, you will have the opportunity to work in different departments and projects in 3 rotations of 6 months each.

The programme will be tailored to your needs so that you can gain valuable experience in all areas. You will develop specific skills and explore different aspects of our company in line with your career goals.

As part of a diverse and international organisation, you will work with leaders and team members from different disciplines.


Diverse Experience

Gain valuable insights into the different areas of our business to develop your skills and discover your passion and develop your skills further.



On-the-Job Training

You will work on current projects, assume responsibility, play an active role in current product launches and help shape change.


Personal Support

You will have the support you need to succeed with mentors and programme leaders, encouraging you to develop your professional network.


In your path, you could rotate through the following business divisions:

Medical, Oncology

  • Work in a cross-functional team, together with colleagues from the fields of Commercial and Market Access.
  • Take over medical management responsibilities.
  • Prepare and structure launches.
  • MLR (Medical, Legal and Regulatory) support

 

Innovation and Business Excellence

  • Utilise digital marketing tools such as google adverts to develop marketing automation strategies.
  • Work with patients and HCP (Healthcare Professionals).
  • Realisation of awareness activities in different disease areas.
  • Work with the salesforce for salesforce automation.
  • Work with every part of our core business for campaign and website launches.

 

Market Access

  • Prepare documents for internal market access strategy and negotiation phases with authorities.
  • Develop market access strategies for new products.
  • Work with other departments on organising new product launches.
  • Structure and prepare internal approval processes.
  • Analyse and structure datasets.




Your Profile


You are looking for an opportunity to make a difference: You take initiative, rise to challenges and actively shape change. You are a passionate team player with genuine curiosity and a desire to learn, grow and take responsibility - supported by a strong network.


What you bring with you

  • Recent graduates with Master`s or PhD awarded from a subject of natural sciences (for example biology, chemistry, biochemistry), quantitative sciences (e.g. economics or statistics) or a similar discipline.
  • A passion for the pharmaceutical and medical field.
  • The ability to quickly understand and adapt to different environments.
  • A willingness learn and work flexibly within different fields.
  • A valid passport with working permit in Switzerland and geographic mobility.
  • Previous experience is a plus.
  • Availability for a minimum of 18 months / next start of the programme: September 2026
  • Fluency in English and German.

How do I apply for the ETP?

  • The start of the next early talent programme will be announced on this page. As soon as the application process is open, you can register here.

Where will I work?

  • All rotations are set for our Swiss HQ in Baar.

Can I work remotely?

  • We offer the possibility to work hybrid, with a set minimum number of days in the office, ensuring that you can learn as much as possible.

What is the selection process like?

  • We are following a three-stage selection process for applicants, beginning with an interview to meet our applicants.

I am not fluent in German; can I still apply?

  • As you are rotating through different departments, some of which require communication with authorities, a fluent level of German is required. Despite that, communication with colleagues will often occur in English.
