«24 Gifts of Giving»: Christmas Charity Campaign

AstraZeneca Switzerland has launched a «24 Gifts of Giving» advent calendar with the aim of generating charitable donations. The team will organize various activities and publish internal social media posts every day until December 24. AstraZeneca will make a donation for each interaction with the advent calendar, including Likes and Comments on posts or participation in the activities. The contributions will benefit Zürich Children's Hospital and the Association for Children with Rare Diseases, «KMSK — Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten.»

AstraZeneca is committed to ensuring that Switzerland has a sustainable and resilient healthcare system and supports local organizations to make a positive contribution towards a healthier society. «We use the holiday season to provide help where it is urgently needed. That is why we will send the amounts gathered by the «24 Gifts of Giving» advent calendar to Zürich Children's Hospital and the Association for Children with Rare Diseases (KMSK). We are also encouraging our employees to participate in the «2 x Christmas» campaign, which provides support to people affected by poverty,» explains Florian Saur, Country President of AstraZeneca Switzerland.

Donating Together Fosters a Sense of Pride and Team Spirit

The «24 Gifts of Giving» advent calendar invites employees to take part in fundraising campaigns in a playful way: You are asked to like or comment on internal social media posts and invited to take part in local and virtual activities. By doing so, you will help to generate donations, contributed by AstraZeneca Switzerland, to be sent to those who need them most. This enables employees to make a big difference with small, collective actions.

The teams have come up with some fun and unusual activities to promote mutual interactions, bring everyone together and have fun. To name just a few, we handed out an award for the ugliest Christmas jumper at a brunch event, held a quiz to find the answers to various questions about Christmas, and hosted a Guetzli bake-off, which presented a different challenge to the ones our employees usually face at work.

Our employees, who share our passion for supporting patient well-being, are proud to be involved in this work and have already raised a significant amount of donations. All of this has really boosted team spirit by doing something good together this festive season.
