AstraZeneca is launching the R&D Postdoctoral Challenge for the second time. PhD students and Postdoctorals from all over the world are encouraged to present innovative ideas with the chance of receiving a funded Postdoctoral position at AstraZeneca. The programme thus encourages young talents to develop research approaches with the potential for medical breakthroughs. Projects can be submitted until the end of June 2023.
Research and Development (R&D) is the fundamental endeavour of pharmaceutical companies to help patients on their recovery journey. Therefore, the International R&D Postdoctoral Challenge for PhD students and Postdoctorals aims at motivating young talents to discover breakthroughs that could revolutionise the treatment of complex diseases.
Be at the forefront of scientific research
Ambitious scientists from around the world have until the end of June 2023 to submit their research concepts for the R&D Postdoctoral Challenge and apply for a funded Postdoctoral position at AstraZeneca. Shortlisted candidates will have the chance to present their research designs to accelerate drug discovery and development in front of a world-leading panel of judges. As part of the Postdoctoral community, all participants can work at the forefront of scientific research and put their ideas into practice.
Applications from almost 40 countries were submitted in 2022
«Every medical breakthrough is based on an innovative idea. With this unique programme, we want to promote young talents from the field of medicine. The funded Postdoctoral position enables them to achieve their full potential and contribute to scientific success and medical progress with their research work,» says Yésica Hernández-Brichis, Medical Director at AstraZeneca Switzerland.
Last year, AstraZeneca received applications from nearly 40 countries. Six finalists received funded Postdoctoral positions at various locations based on their innovative research approaches.
