Sustainability
We consistently base our corporate conduct on the needs of society and environmental protection.
We are committed to the health of our patients and employees, the environment and society. We are achieving this with our therapies, our investments and our partnerships. Our commitment is supported by a healthy corporate culture built on integrity, respect and transparency.
Our sustainability strategy includes three focal points that put health at the core of what we do: access to healthcare, environmental protection, and ethics and transparency.
Our strategic priorities:
Healthcare: Access to medicines
AstraZeneca is working with various partners and stakeholders to gather important information. This collaboration will provide us with a better understanding of patient characteristics and treatment pathways and outcomes for various diseases.
Disease prevention and education
To heighten awareness of specific diseases and better help patients and healthcare professionals, we are seeking cooperation with patient organisations, medical associations and hospitals.

Environmental protection: sustainable actions
Health is central to what we do. We therefore seek out opportunities to protect the environment by preserving natural resources and ensuring the environmental friendliness of our products in all areas of our business activities and value chain.
In Switzerland, we work in a ‘Minergie’ (sustainably built) office building, and promote public transport; we are switching our company vehicle fleet to E-vehicles, reducing waste by avoiding the use of plastic bottles and using recycling stations.
Ethics and transparency: our mission
In Switzerland, we adhere to the pharmaceutical code, the Pharmakodex von Scienceindustries and we are a member of the Swiss Health Quality Association. We also actively support the transparency initiatives of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
