At AstraZeneca Switzerland, we are dedicated to moving beyond basic symptom control to tackle complex respiratory and immunological challenges. Our aim is disease modification, clinical remission, and addressing significant unmet medical needs in conditions such as asthma, COPD, and lupus.

Our focus areas

COPD

Our ambition is to eliminate COPD as the world's third leading cause of death1 – through earlier diagnosis, optimised treatment and a stronger focus on cardiopulmonary risk. To get there, we are advancing next-generation biologics and oral therapies that slow disease progression and help reverse structural lung damage.

Asthma

Asthma severely impacts daily life, particularly in its severe forms.2 Our research focuses on advanced biologic therapies that target underlying airway inflammation, aiming to prevent exacerbations, improve lung function as well as asthma control, and move patients closer to clinical remission.

Other chronic respiratory diseases​

Beyond asthma and COPD, we are expanding our research to address complex respiratory conditions with high unmet clinical needs. Building on AstraZeneca's respiratory heritage, we continue to advance science that has the potential to transform patient care.

Immunology

We aim to transform the treatment of immunological conditions, such as lupus, by targeting the root drivers of the disease. Through complex biologics and novel cell therapies, our goal is to achieve long-term clinical remission and functional cures
